What’s cooking in the art world?
Different blog, different week- now it’s time for another ‘Crambed in’ blog! This week is 16th of January, and before I start this week’s blog I would like to apologise if some people were disappointed that Shonah Escomb’s glass exhibition wasn’t on ‘Cramb in Creative’ this week! It’s still to confirmed on what Shonah will be showcasing yet, but I am sure its more info will be sooner rather than later! In the meantime, Made in Stirling are raffling one of her incredible pieces and raising money for Creative Stirling & Made in Stirling! So make sure you get yours and find out more at www.madeinstirlingstore.com!
So anyways, let’s begin.
This week New College Lanarkshire are in Gallery 2 exhibiting their work to the public, as part of their HND course. I have now seen some of it and my favourite piece has to be the big Chicken dinner, which even if it’s a modal still look delicious and very appetizing (sorry, I just really like roasted chicken). If you want to go and see the exhibition, it will be running from the 17th till the 22nd of January. There’s also an opening event, 5-9pm tonight (Thursday 16th of January) too.
‘Creative Flow’ is coming back for its monthly event, by the Forth Valley Creative network and this time it’s hosted by Lime Tree House, alongside Creative Stirling and other collaborators across the region of Forth Valley. I think this a great opportunity for people to discuss how we can work together as collaborators to grow the arts and provide more connected opportunities across the region of Forth Valley. So, please come to Creative flow on Wednesday 5th of February or to find out more about the event by listening to Cramb in creative on Stirling Community Radio, or head to creativestirling.org/events.
Speaking of my show, you can listen to it live on Thursdays at 3pm- and you should definitely listen! Head to stirlingcommunity.radio.
Very exciting news is that I will be going to Forth Valley College (Stirling and Falkirk campus) on 4th and 6th of February as part of their Welcome Fair to promote the work we do at Creative Stirling. I will be going with the two GOATS of Creative Stirling Sam Green and Ryan Rocks. Before Christmas, I worked at a careers fair at St Modan’s High School, and it was very successful. So, I will take from what I have learned from that one and see what I could do better, and improve on. So, if there’s anyone from Forth Valley College, Stirling or Falkirk campus, who is reading this, then I will see you guys there! And, for any fans, you might even be able to get my autograph…. Yeah I know that was a bit of a stretch but still would be cool!
So come say hi to Creative Stirling on the 4th (Stirling campus), 5th (Alloa Campus (I won’t be there though, so don’t bother (jk))), and 6th (Falkirk Campus) for Forth Valley College’s Welcome Fair!
See ya there!
