More Crambed in

On Tuesday the 3rd of December I was researching and then writing my script for my show ‘Cramb in Creative’ (which airs on Stirling Community Radio every Thursday at 3pm). I shared information about the food market (a new addition to Made in Stirling’s Christmas Market), the degree show that was in the Event Space at Creative Stirling Venue which was showcasing work by the students form Forth Valley College and Stirling University, and the last, but certainly not least, the Creative Youth Assembly (CYA) group.

The first thing I did was to look up CYA which is run by the amazing youth team at Creative Stirling’ which invites young people in Stirling to explore which career path suits them by developing their skills and then gain what they have from the experience of meeting industry professionals, I feel it’s a really good thing for young people to have experience with the industry because we now live in a world where social media is massive right now, for example YouTube and TikTok, etc. So opportunities to learn about what employment and learning is out there this might inspire the current and next generation to do more with digital skills.

Honour Art and Design Degree Show has now left the event space in Creative Stirling

It was absolutely great seeing people from Forth Valley College and Stirling University show off their fantastic work for people to see and had a lot of different meanings to them. Callum Milligan skilful dark room analogue photography  and developing photographs from film, it for some reason reminded me of a crime scene where they put the tent up with photos of the victims hanging up, but it wasn’t that thank goodness. Sadly analogue and dark room photography is now becoming a dying art form, so it’s good to see people keeping it alive and showcasing the process to others.

Sasha Henderson showing her living sculpture under the human skin was very unnerving but gives us important question why do we not like to see what under our own skin which is something to think about.

My favourite one had to be Duncan McNab Stewart’s awareness on climate change because of how it looked and the message it has. I think it looked so incredible the arctic tundra turning into an ocean was a cool transformation but has the message of our current climate, Duncan must have taken a very long time with it so big shout out to him and everyone who took part in the show and I hope you get more work like this in the future.

The last thing that I had to look up was the Christmas food market downstairs at Made in Stirling. Examples of what is getting sold there are chocolate lollies, pickles, raspberry jam and Broccoli crisps etc. I think it’s great for Made in Stirling to have a food market for the Christmas season as it will give shoppers something to gift at Christmas or use for their Christmas dinner/treat themselves if they like the items mentioned.

On Thursday 5th of December Ryan Rocks, TJ and I were doing camera work testing and learning on how to use them. Ryan showed us a cool trick on his laptop using a cord attached to the main camera, connected to his laptop, showing us two cameras filming simultaneously allowing to switch between scenes. That’s where TJ got the great idea to pretend to be a news reporter at Celtic park and Ryan as the reporter in the studio. Ryan did an amazing job showing me and TJ on how it works and  I can’t wait to do more filming projects like this in the future.

Going forward I will be having a blog about what I have been doing this week at Creative Stirling, and will reflecting on what information I am talking about on my show Cramb in Creative (on air Thursdays at 3pm on Stirling Community radio), and how it all went and how I felt about it.

See you all next blog!

-Jamie.
