Lavender Lives Animation Sessions with David Galletly

Last week, we were thrilled to host two of our Lavender Lives animation sessions with the incredibly talented illustrator, David Galletly. This event was held in collaboration with LGBT Youth Scotland, and it was a fantastic opportunity for our young participants to dive into the world of animation using Procreate.

David Galletly, a renowned local illustrator, led the sessions with great enthusiasm and expertise. He guided our young artists through the process of creating fun and colorful hand-drawn animations. These sessions were not only about learning the technical skills of animation but also about fostering creativity and self-expression among our participants.

The animations created during these sessions were designed to promote and celebrate the inaugural Stirling Pride event happening this September. This marks Stirling's first-ever Pride, and we are excited to contribute to this historic occasion through our art.

For those who missed out on the initial sessions, we still have spaces available for our next session on Wednesday, the 10th. This upcoming workshop is another chance to learn from David Galletly, who will share valuable tips and insights from his experience as a professional illustrator. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their animation skills, learn about the industry, and be part of history by having their designs featured in Stirling's first Pride event.

Our Lavender Lives project, including these animation sessions, has been generously funded by Youthlink Scotland. Their support has been instrumental in making these workshops possible and accessible to our youth community.

We are immensely grateful to everyone involved in making these sessions a success and look forward to seeing the vibrant animations that will be showcased at Stirling Pride. If you’re interested in joining the next session, don’t hesitate to sign up and be a part of this creative and inclusive project.
