What next? Learning from the culture symposium…

Its two weeks since a whole host of brilliant people came together at the Engine Shed to explore the idea of Stirling’s creative identity: past, present, possible. With 9 speakers, 3 workshops and approximately 70 creative people with lots to say, its safe to say that the ‘take-aways’ were plentiful!

I’ve collected data from 5 sources through the symposium (the online evaluation used on the day, notes from discussion groups, workshop comments and geographical info. They’ll also be video and photo documentation available soon). I’m in the process of going through all the information people so generously shared and will be creating a report to share the learning from the day.

In the meantime, one take-away that is jumping off the page is that people want a way of sharing their projects, their ideas and to connect with other people doing creative things throughout Stirling. We heard you and we agree! We’ve set up a facebook group where people can add what they do and follow up on connection, post symposium. Its also a way for people who weren’t involved in the day to connect and find out more about how to get involved. The idea is that this will be as populated and as useful as we collectively make it. You can join the facebook page here

Keep checking in with this blog too, as we’ll be sharing lots more info about next actions from the symposium here. As ever, if you want to get involved or have a great idea, let us know!
