Ruth and Kathryn (Macrobert) went to visit Creative Morning’s in Edinburgh in their pursuit to continue to grow and develop Stirling’s creative breakfasts…
Hopefully by now you’ve heard about Creative Breakfasts, the monthly informal meet ups that have been developed by Macrobert. There are the first Friday of every month (next one is August 2nd). They’ve been great and its been a really nice way to start the month – I always come away feeling uplifted by the speakers…I mean, there are definitely worse ways to start a Friday!
So, in the spirit of starting a Friday off well, Kathryn and I went on a wee Place Partnership field trip to a similar project – Creative Morning’s Edinburgh – to listen to their speaker and to get a feel for how these kind of networking events come together in other places. The whole philosophy of them is a little like the Pecha Kucha’s that Creative Stirling also run as part of the Place Partnership – you have something nice to drink, a wee snack and the opportunity to listen to interesting speakers and meet interesting people who are into creative stuff in your local area. Like Stirling’s Creative Breakfast’s, there was good coffee! There were also Bagels, which by all accounts were very good but as is the way of my life with trains, I was on a cancelled and then delayed train and ended up arriving just in time for the talk from Emily Rose Yates!
Kathryn has written on the blog recently about her reflection on Stirling’s creative breakfasts, so it was nice after almost a year to go and visit a similar project together to see what we can learn. We both agreed that Stirling’s got something really unique to offer, and that Creative Breakfasts could be a lovely way to share and celebrate this.
Do you know about something great that’s happening that we should go and visit?
Over and out!
