On Sunday 16th of November Made in Stirling held an incredibly successful Christmas Shopping Event. There was mulled wine and festive treats available, and live music by local musicians Jason Riddell & Natasha McDonagh. We also decided to open up the back area of the shop, previously occupied by Open Source Stirling, to welcome new artists and designers such as Natty Maid - a Shetland born illustrator/printmaker based in Alloa - and Lil’ Bubba Things - bespoke children’s wear and accessories made using vintage and contemporary fabrics. We had a wonderful day and would like to thank all of our designers, makers, artist and the local community for making this event possible.
The Christmas period has definitely gotten off to a great start after our Made in Stirling Shopping Event and the shop is busier than ever as we continue to support local artists by giving them a chance to sell their work. We currently have loads of Christmas items in stock - including handmade cards, Christmas tree decorations and glass baubles. We also have many unique items that would make the perfect gift for your friends and families such as handmade jewellery, framed photographs and paintings, beautifully scented soaps & bath salts, felt brooches, silk scarves and Harris Tweed purses and accessories. Feel free to pop into the shop and have a look for yourselves, you definitely won’t be disappointed!
Additionally, our current lease will finish on the 31st December and we are already speaking to other landlords our next move for 2015. We’re incredibly excited at the prospect of moving, and we want to make sure that we continue with the Made in Stirling project by giving artists and makers a chance to showcase their work and sell it to the public. So, watch this space!
