Here at the Made in Stirling shop we are always making an effort to change our stock and offer a more diverse range of products, and from now until the new year we are running a spotlight on 'Early Years Design', which focuses on designers who make products for babies and young children. Below is some info on new makers we are welcoming into the shop, and other artists involved with the event:
All that is BRAW is run by Eilidh Weir who makes beautiful handmade garments, designed to be long lasting and durable. She makes bibs, sleep suits, pajamas and dress up capes for children and babies from high quality recycled and new fabrics, with each piece designed to last.
Karen McQueenie's toys from 'Mumma Loves You' are designed to inspire creativity and spark imaginations. They are aimed at babies and young children, including baby rattles and uniquely designed play mats mats, which also come in travel size! All her items are CE tested and approved.
Janice McGregor has been producing her excellent children's garments for over 25 years, using a diverse range of quality fabrics, including Harris Tweed and corduroy. She is open to orders for different sizes, please contact her for more information.
After after the birth of her child, Joanne O'Leary started noticing how many items for children are cheaply made and don't last, so she decided to start upcycling children's furniture. Using bright colours to inspire young minds, she aims to introduce great design and quality to children's lives.
Georgina Gallivan makes baby hats and booties, as well as tea cosies and adult hats. She has been knitting for over 16 years. She started by making clothes for her own children, and now they have grown she still consults them in design process of her work. She uses a pure wool yarn, which is soft and cosy.
So, these are the talented makers of the wide range of different items that are now in stock at our store. Be sure to come along and check them out for yourself!
